Here I Go Again...

True to my word, there have been a few more runs popping up in my schedule these days... After a bit of a pre-St. Patrick's Day road trip with the Halifax Sauna Club guys to Ben Eoin for the Masters Ski Racing Series FINAL, I've run twice this week. Since Monday! That's big even in my race season. And it's feeling good! No music, no distance, no time... just running. And even some walking up some of the steeper hills I come across. Which I now know to be one of my stronger suits (listening to my body, swallowing my pride and thinking about the future health and big picture).

The Sugoi Piston 200 Compression Tight is fantastic and great for this weather. I don't believe anybody should be wearing shorts at any point this time of year. Unless they want that cold they always get as they come in to every new season. Wear tights, wear arm sleeves, wear a light toque, wear light gloves, and stay out longer! Then get inside and showered before you cool down and get chilled for the rest of the day/night...

Starting to plan out the tri/run/endurance season as it fits in with my new life plan and direction. It's all good!, as they say, but not without challenges and a few big changes: It's worked out perfectly that I've been accepted to study to become a Chiropractor at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Thanks in big part to my time and experience gained here at Aerobics First, through contacts gained through ski race coaching & triathlon, and a 'few' years off from Academia! The spring / summer will be all about getting prepped for that journey, but also trying to reach my potential in triathlon competition. I'll be focusing on Olympic Distance events locally, leading towards Muskoka Ironman 70.3 in September (have already confirmed that there are no school obligations on that weekend and was given an enthusiastic good luck! from Admissions at CMCC.

Am also excited about the prospect of being involved with co-worker Rich's and A2 Advantage Coach Matt Sheffield's Men-Durance project. It WILL be a great way to get VERY fast...

Now you (and others) know what's coming down the pipe. And now I'm a little clearer on things too.. Funny how writing makes that happen.(Oscar-winning movie Precious has inspired me to write more)

Here we go again.
