There isn't anything much less economical than a solo road trip. But that's just what I did this Sat/Sun (the hottest on the planet, ever) to make it to the TriParlee olympic triathlon at Parlee Beach in New Brunswick. All went well, despite the 'heat' everyone was talking about. Compared to Calgary on the August long weekend (29, no ocean breeze, twice the distance, 1000 M altitude) this was not -as it was in CowTown- a walk in the park, but rather a race where I felt strong and surging for most of the time..
Besides the race, was happy to stop by Masstown (with the rest of the province) for icecream, Wentworth to see the changes at the hill (www.skiwentworth.ca), stop by Snowdrift for some clothes and a rest, Sackville's BridgeStreet Cafe for some Lava Lasagna (as named by me and my friends when at MTA).... Thanks to TJ Worden-Rogers (of Bridgewater Triathlon Club Pedigree, and Ironman Infamy) for the place to crash in Moncton. Good luck to you and your mom in the IM in Kentucky in two weeks!
Atlantic Chip has all the results. Super happy with the whole event.. The swim was obviously short or effected by the silly amount of beach running and sandbar dolphin diving included in the 1500 M distance. 20:00mins? No way. Was 26' in Cape Breton and was happy enough with that! The bike was 42 kms, which is a bit of a burn, considering could've tried for a sub-2 hour time if I came off the bike a few minutes earlier. Never really pushed on the run, but felt strong and comfortable, which is a big change from Calgary (weak, and scared). 42:00 isn't bad... Remembered that I basically have to run scared/frantic to go under 40, let along 37 for 10 K in a tri. (Sackville, NB last year) Plus 2:11:11 is a cool time. Maybe I should go for a 2:00:00 instead?
Got beat by endurance veteran, and Radical Edge (Fredericton Aerobics First-ish shop) owner Mike Davies. It won't happen again.
Let's see if I can post some pics up here...
Obligatory solo road trip, self-portrait. Black market RB hat. Not to be worn in public (often)
Lots, and lots, and lots of stuff. Mike Todd's bike, new SuperLeggera Rocket Air helmet from Louis Garneau, new lime green swim cap and goggles, New Balance 903 lightweight racers (toast, need new shoes), 19 Frequency wetsuit (inside out, post race), Sugoi tri suit, Nike tri shoes, and a duffle bag full of more stuff.. For a minimalist, I sure bring a lot of stuff around with me.
The fruit of my labour. A water bottle.

Lots of specialists state that mortgage loans help people to live their own way, because they are able to feel free to buy necessary stuff. Furthermore, various banks offer college loan for all people.
