Marathon for Marilou a Success!
This past weekend a fundraising event was held at the Bike and Bean in Upper Tantallon. The event was a huge success, the organizers had a few words to say that we would like to pass on!
"WOW what a day!! Marathon for Marilou Fun Run was a HUGE success :)
Both of us want to THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for coming out today. Watching each of you walk through the door of the Bike&Bean to support our friend, someone that most of you probably don't even know, touched us deeply. It was totally UNEXPECTED!!! Your generosity was overwhelming with a GRAND total of $1693.51 raised...with more on the way. Some of that, $165 to be exact, was brought in today from a small running group that couldn't make it yesterday! Impressive. There's a number of people that 'stick out' for their generous donations, and you know who you are!
It was great to see that you had a chance to hang around and enjoy the tasty treats & warm ambiance of Marilou's cafe. Yet another way that you all supported her! You cannot really fully appreciate our running community until you see how it responds in a time of need! Here's a picture of you wonderful folks, thanks to our buddy Steve (some people are missing). Also a BIG THANKS to Jodi, who's helped us with getting the word out :) Hope to see you all again out there on the trails! HIP HIP HOORAY TO A GREAT DAY :)
