Spring has sprung...

And I'm itching to run again...

It seems this happens every year, that I go into what I call sloth-mode in early December. After too many multiple-coffee days and fast food restaurant visits however, and with the sun hanging around for a little longer and the roads and sidewalks of Halifax clearing up, I want to run again.

I feel this is a good and healthy pattern for me. It's happened before, and it'll happen again, but I know that I get almost giddy at the thought of o running/biking/swimming with friends and outside.

It's time to pick some races, start the smack talk, get up earlier, get the nutrition back on track (which seems to happen anyway when working out hard and often anyway).

I did go for a 'run' last night that lasted an hour, but included a drop in visit on a friend, and a little bit of a surprise drop in and run invite on another... Which he was happy about considering the only other prospect which was setting up on the couch for the night... I got him out for 15 alon gthe Halifax waterfront which was good for both of us.

I (carefully) used the new Mizuno Elixir shoe, which is a low profile, mildly supported lightweight trainer... Very nice! Although it's still too early to tell how it will standup to longer runs, a few weeks/months on the road, or increased intensity. We'll see!

Next thing to try out is the Scott Ride IM shoe, and the Sugoi Compression Tight coming my way to test... I know I'll look good in it. But will it 'work'?

Here we go!
